GAF Roofing Corporation: A Roofing Contractors Best Friend

The Partnership Between GAF & Their Contractors

We have found GAF roofing shingles to be the best for residential roofing applications. Not only do they provide a great product they also have incredible contractor programs and great marketing. This video shows the unveiling of the new GAF motorcycle on American Chopper. This is sweet! PR like this can go very far.

GAF's Marketing Campaign & Contractor Profiles

Another interesting note for you contractors who are wondering what manufacturer you should make a commitment to is that GAF invested tons of money into internet marketing this year. For instance you will begin to see their GAF contractor profiles showing up in the SERPs. That means if you are a GAF Master Elite contractor you have a multi-million dollar company doing heavy internet marketing on your behalf.

Here is an example. I typed in the search term roofing companies Buckley and here is the result:

If you click on this link it will bring you to the GAF Master Elite profile that looks like this:

Note on the right hand side of the contractor profile that GAF has targeted every city and zip code in the entire state with the search marketing campaign. I have been tracking the search results in the Puget Sound region for a while and the GAF profiles are beginning to surface in some of the middle sized cities.

If you are a contractor looking for a manufacturer that will back you up and help you succeed GAF  Materials Corporation is by far the best choice. Not to mention their incredible factory rebates.

Thanks GAF for all that you have done for the roofing industry and its contractors.

Checking Your Roof For Sings Of Leaking

Signs of A Leaking Roof

Its critical to know the state of your roof as we head into the winter months. In order to help you do this on your own I wanted to create this small check list of the most common signs of a leaking roof. It is important that a home owner is able to recognize when his roof is in danger of developing a potentially costly roof leak. It is as equally important that you consult with a professional roofing contractor that has the expertise to locate leaks, possible leak prone areas and can also make the necessary targeted repairs to stop an issue before it occurs.

Roof Investigation Check List:

1) Granule loss on shingles.
2) Cracked or curling shingles.
3) Missing shingles due to wind blow off.
4) Blistering paint on the interior or exterior.
5) Water stains on ceilings and walls.
6) Bubbles that have formed in your paint due to water build up.
7) Excessive rise in utility bills.

If you notice any of these signs on your roofing system its time for a professional check up!

If you have determined that there is strong evidence of a roof leak due to any of the above stated interior damage your next step will be to get into the attic. Bring a flash light or flood light and look for water stains. Once you have located the water stains follow the water migration trail or pattern to the point of entry. This will help you to pinpoint where the water is coming in, and where your roofing system has been compromised.

Always wear proper safety equipment if you attempt to climb onto the roof yourself. I suggest checking OSHA's recommended safety requirements before you get onto the roof at all. Remember, hiring a professional is worth avoiding unnecessary risks to your life.
